0169 - Richmond County 4-H Horse Club

Description

Richmond County 4-H Horse Club is open to Richmond County youth in 4th through 12th grades during the 2023-2024 school year. We will learn basic care and knowledge of horses, such as parts of a horse, grooming, tack, and feeding. We will meet at the horse field, so wear boots or any closed-toe shoes you don't mind getting dirty. The first Horse Club meeting will be held Saturday, September 23rd, at Spirit Creek Farm, 4010 Smokey Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815. The horse club will meet one Saturday per month starting in September 2023 and meeting through May 2024, except for cancellations due to inclement weather.

Before attending a Horse Club meeting, participants must pay a $10.50 registration fee and return a signed waiver to uge3245f@uga.edu and wbg1@uga.edu. Contact Winnie Garrett at wbg1@uga.edu for more information about Horse Club or an upcoming meeting.

Requirements

Only current Richmond County 4-H youth should be registered for this event. If you are not from Richmond County, please contact your local Extension office for more information regarding 4-H programming in your area.

After registration, the following forms are required for participation.

• The Georgia 4-H Medical Information and Release Form should be completed before this activity. This form allows you to share important information with us so we can provide the best care for your child.
• Should any medication be required during the activity, the Georgia 4-H Medicine Form and the medication should be given to the Extension chaperone upon arrival.
• The Georgia 4-H Code of Conduct establishes guidelines for expected behavior standards and consequences of misbehavior.
• The Spirit Creek Farms Liability Waiver.
