0169 - Richmond County 4-H Horse Club
Description
Richmond County 4-H Horse Club is open to 4th-12th grade students who are interested in learning about horses. Horse Club will meet (rain or shine) at 10am-12noon on the third Saturday of the month in September, October, November, January, February, March, and May at Appaloosa Acres located at 3617 Hopson Mill Road in Blythe. Horse Club will host many events, including activities with a farrier, a veterinarian, an expert on draft horses, and an expert on nutrition for horses. We will learn basic care and knowledge of horses, such as parts of a horse, grooming, tack and feeding. It is suggested you wear boots or any closed toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.
Before attending a Horse Club meeting, participants must pay the annual $10.00 registration fee and return a signed Appaloosa Acres Farm Liability Waiver to uge3245f@uga.edu and wbg1@uga.edu. Contact Winnie Garrett at wbg1@uga.edu for more information about Horse Club or an upcoming meeting.

Only current Richmond County 4-H youth should be registered for this event. If you are not from Richmond County, please contact your local Extension office for more information regarding 4-H programming in your area.
After registration, the following forms are required for participation.
- The Georgia 4-H Medical Information and Release Form should be completed before this activity. This form allows you to share important information with us so we can provide the best care for your child.
- Should any medication be required during the activity, the Georgia 4-H Medicine Form and the medication should be given to the Extension chaperone upon arrival.
- The Georgia 4-H Code of Conduct establishes guidelines for expected behavior standards and consequences of misbehavior.
- The Spirit Creek Farms Liability Waiver.
